BAJA CALIFORNIA NORTE 
Baja California is one of 31 states that together make up the Federal District of Mexico's 32 states. 
Baja California is located in the northwest corner of Mexico. Share the Baja California peninsula with the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. Before achieving statehood in 1952, had the name of the Northern Territory of Baja California. It has an area of 71,576 km ², ie 3.57% of the country. Bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, east to the Sea of Cortez or Gulf of California, the state of Sonora and the U.S. state of Arizona, south to the state of Baja California Sur and north to the U.S. state of California. 
Its capital is Mexicali, this city, along with Tijuana and Ensenada, are the biggest cities in the state, the first two located along the U.S. border. The San Pedro Martir National Park comprises wooded lot located within the mountainous Sierra de San Pedro Martir. This is one of the few tracts of mountain forest is located in the Baja California Peninsula. It has a variety of conifer species and serves as an important refuge for wildlife on the peninsula whose species, some endemic can see bighorn sheep.
